Which Modern Language Do You Teach at St Paul’s?
Children in Year 3-6 learn French each week.
At St Paul’s, children are given a wide range of opportunities to learn French, through songs, games and more formal lessons. We use the education scheme Rigolo where we teach the children how to discuss about themselves, their families, food and drink and the local environment.
Although children in EYFS and KS1 are not formally taught French, we do use french vocabulary to discuss the days of the week and months of the year.
In KS1 we will have a French Christmas party where we will explore French songs and Christmas traditions.
In Summer term we have our ‘French Day’ where we explore French food, culture and languages.
