Which Curriculum Does St. Paul’s Follow?
In line with new government guidelines on the teaching of Relationships and Health Education in Primary schools, we have revised our curriculum (please see the curriculum overview map) and are now actively using planning and resources from the PSHE Association, to support teaching and learning in this subject.
In addition to this we are using ‘Growing Up with Yasmine and Tom’ put together by The Family Planning Association to support the teaching and learning of Sex Education for older pupils in KS2.
CURRICULUM MAP
Our curriculum map is carefully planned to include scientific and learning and to respect Christian and other world beliefs.

Zones Of Regulation
At St Paul’s we have begun to explore our emotions in more detail through the use of the ‘Zones of Regulation’, an approach which helps children to manage difficult emotions (self-regulation).
From time to time, all of us (including adults) find it hard to manage strong feelings such as worry, anger, restlessness, fear, tiredness, and this stops us from getting on with our day effectively.
Children who feel these strong emotions often find it hard to learn and concentrate in school. The Zones of Regulation aims to teach children strategies, known as ‘tools’, to help them cope with these feelings so they can get back to feeling calm and ready to learn.
