Walking the Stations of the Cross – to mark the end of Lent and to conclude our Christian RE unit of learning pupils from YR 2 – YR 6 took part in an outdoor spiritually immersive experience, ‘The Journey to the Cross’. We gathered outside in groups and ‘walked’ the different parts of the journey that Jesus made. Journeys are full of surprises; we discovered new things about different places and people.
We had ‘stations’ or ‘stopping points’ to help us follow Jesus on his way to the cross. Children collected a bag in which they gathered symbols to mark points on the journey. We invited parents, carers and governors to join us in this.
